Why Trust the Holy Bible?

The Holy Bible claims to contain the words of the Creator of the universe (2 Timothy 3:16-17). If you do a phrase search on the Bible you will find the phrase "the word of the Lord" or "Thus says the Lord" more than 600 times. This book has given reasonable evidence to these claims by

  • providing answers that conform with the reality we see around us.

  • being a reliable collection of historical documents.

  • containing eyewitness accounts that were written during the lifetimes of other eyewitnesses.

  • recording supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies.*

The God of the universe invites you to come and reason with him (Isaiah 1:18). To dig deeper into this topic, see the references below.

Digging Deeper

One example of the reliable historicity of the Bible is that more than 20,000 ancient manuscripts of the New Testament writings have been uncovered. And, these ancient documents have enabled historians and theologians to establish that the New Testament text we have today has a copy accuracy of greater than 99%. No other ancient historical document even comes close for Greek or Roman history, for example. So, if we trust the historical documentation for Greece and Rome, the Bible has demonstrated a far greater trustworthiness. Please see below other resources you can study.
