The Holy Bible is the best-selling book of all times. It holds the answers to all of life's major questions and most of our "riddles". For example:
1. Which came first the chicken or the egg?
Genesis 1:24-26 tells us "God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind". The text tells us plainly that God created the livestock, which includes the chicken and the rooster. It would be non-sensical to conclude He created just an egg. Moreover, the evidence we see around us confirms that when God created the animals, He gave them the ability to multiply after their own kind. Consequently, if we believe God's historical account, we can confidently assert that the chicken came first.
2. Is there life on other planets?
Isaiah 45:18 declares "For this is what the Lord says, He who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it as a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited): 'I am the Lord, and there is no one else'.
Man has been able to create telescopes powerful enough to see billions of stars and thousands of planetary systems. The Voyager I space craft has entered interstellar space providing data that confirms the "waste" places in the universe and the uniqueness of Earth. However, the Bible tells us that this vastness of stars and planets are not wasted simply because they are not inhabited. Instead, Scripture proclaims "the heavens tell of the glory of God; and their expanse declares the work of His hands" (Psalm 19:1-6).
The vast universe serves the great purpose of making God's power and glory known to the inhabitants on Earth (Romans 1:18-20).
Since the Bible demonstrates its words confirm with the reality we see around us, should we not also consider its other claims? This book declares itself to be the word of God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. And, it says it contains the truth about where we came from, why we are here, why we die, what happens after we die, and how to make peace with God that leads to eternal life and rescues us from His judgment. Dear reader, surely its worth your eternal life to explore the truthfulness of its claims.
